# How to Write a Good Beedol Post

## Introduction
When I first joined Beedol, there were only 2 other users. Sam (the creator of this platform), and Breeze (who I assume to be Jace). Sam had written 3 good posts. Breeze, had written [[this]](https://beedol.app/breeze/how-to-be-cool). Here are the contents of that post:
> Make good friends. Kaboom! You are cool now!

I know. That's it. The problem is plain and obvious. But problems in other posts might not be so obvious. Keep in mind that I mean no offence to any other persons but am only critiquing their work. This is also my own opinion and you may disagree with me. 

## Consistency and Professionalism 
Here is a post titled [How to calculate the distance between any 2 points](https://beedol.app/error/how-to-calculate-the-distance-between-any-2-points). The first thing I noticed was that it began with "How to" as the title. How to what? They author didn't even put the title in the actual article. 

The second thing I noticed is that the post is missing quite a few capital letters. This makes it seem very unprofessional, which is not a good thing. One of the section headers reads **calculating Distances in 3d**. Why is *calculating* lowercase and *Distances* uppercase? Your casing must have consistency, which this article seems to be missing. Either stick to no capitals, or do it correctly. Don't capitalize some characters and skip others. 

The post is also rather poorly written. The first sentence reads as follows:
> first to understand this you would need to understand that you can make a right triangle out of any 2 points.

Never say something like "first to understand this you would need to understand". It just doesn't sound quite right and is also quite confusing. As writers, we want to convey our message simply and effectively. Before publishing, get a friend to read your article. How well do they understand it? 

## Make It Interesting
A good post needs to keep the reader's attention. It has to be informative, yet fun to read. This post, called [Understand HTML and CSS](https://beedol.app/rockgamerak/understand-html-and-css), is literally just a list of elements, attributes, declarations, properties, values, and selectors. It doesn't even count as a "written piece". Try reading the entire thing through. I gave up after a paragraph. Actually, there aren't even "paragraphs".

Look at the above image. That line goes so long that it doesn't even fit on the page. 

No one is going to read a boring article. No one is going to read an article that doesn't even qualify as an article. Take a look at [this](https://beedol.app/sam/how-to-find-the-mean-median-and-mode). Notice the use of exclamation marks. They're everywhere! This makes it seem as if the author Sam is really there and trying to explain something to you. The use of images and GIFs add to the experience. It isn't plain boring repetitive text. There are exciting visuals as well! Images make a post a whole lot better. So do personal note such as *Thanks for reading!*. 

## Use Markdown
As I said in the previous section, visuals make it all the more interesting. Beedol comes with markdown support. You might as well make the most of it! Bold, italics, and headers vary the text format. Instead of a blob of text, you have different variations of text. It spices things up a bit, and makes it easier to read. 

## THE END
No, not the end of this post. Well technically it is, but I have one final point too. Always end on a point. Be it a conclusion, or thank you note, end with something that is actually an ending. # How to Solve Equations Correctly

## Introduction
What are you supposed to do when you get something like `x(2πr÷3)²6+2x`? Don't worry, it's less complicated than it looks. When you solve equations, there's a certain order that you must follow. Most teachers teach it using the acronym **BEDMAS** or **PEMDAS**. Bedmas stands for:
1. Brackets
2. Exponents
3. Division
4. Multiplication
5. Addition
6. Subtraction

## Brackets
Whenever you come across an equation, solve it in the above order. Let's go back to our equation. For the purpose of our example, we'll **let** *x*  be **equal** to *5*, and *y* be equal to *3*. 
> x(2y÷3)²6+2x

According to BEDMASS, the first thing to do is solve the brackets. 
> (2y÷3)

All we have to do is solve everything inside. First, change all the variables to their true value if we know them. 
> (2·3÷3)

Now, we have a simple equation that we can easily solve. *2* times *3* is *6*. Divide that by *3* and you get *2*. You may have noticed that I did the multiplication before the division, even though multiplication is #4 and division #3. This is because they are similar, so you do whatever one comes first. The same goes for addition and subtraction. 
## Exponents
> x(2)²6+2x

The second item on our list is **exponents**. These are the smaller numbers that on the right side of a number. You can find the exponent in our equation here. `(2)²`To solve exponents, multiply its host number by itself however times the exponent is. So we do *2* times itself. That gives us *4*. If the exponent were 0, then the value would be `0` because it is 2 times nothing. If it were *1*, then we would get *2* because *2* times *1* is *2*. If the exponent were *3*, then we would get *8*. 
## Proper Notation
> x·4·6+2·x

Now, we are left with simple multiplication and addition. However, we must first correct the order of the equation. Variables, if multiplied by a number should follow the numeral and not the other way around so `x4` should be `4x`. Following this rule, we get:
> 4x·6+2x

Which is equal to: 
> 4·5·6+2·x
## Multiplication &/OR Division
Because multiplication & division we do from left to right, we do `4·5` first. After we do all the multiplication, we are left with: 
> 120 + 2x

We do the multiplication first. After that, we get:
> 120 + 10

## Addition
I think you know how to add numbers. Anyway, we do the addition last and get a final answer of *130*.

There are many ways you can show data. One of those ways is in a table, but if you want a more visual way to see data, graphing it is the way to go!

## Making sense of the data
First of all, you should take a look at the data you've got

There are a couple of ways to make sense of it:

### Mean
**The mean is the average** of all of the data. To calculate it, add up all of the numbers that you have, and then divide by how many numbers there are. For example, the mean of these numbers:
> 6, 19, 11

Is equal to 12 (6 + 19 + 11 = 36, 36/3 = 12)

### Median
**The median is the middle number in a list of numbers that is in order**. To find it, sort all of the numbers you have and pick out the middle one. Here's an example:
> 14, 19, 22, 19, 13, 15, 11

First, let's put these numbers in order
> 11, 13, 14, 15, 19, 19, 22

Now, let's pick out the middle one
> 11, 13, 14, **15**, 19, 19, 22

Now we know our median! 15!

### Mode
**The mode is which number appears the most**. Let's take a look at an example:
> 15, 22, 11, 15, 36, 24, 24, 19, 15

Now, let's count how many times each number occurs

# How to Solve an Equation

## What is an Equation?
First of all, you'll want to know what an equation actually is. The dictionary definition of an equation is *a statement that the values of two mathematical expressions are equal (indicated by the sign =).*, but in more simple terms, **an equation is a statement that says that two things are equal using an equals sign**.

## How can you Solve an Equation?
When solving an equation, we want the end result to be `x = something`. There are a few ways that you can solve an equation. Here are a few of the most basic ones:

### Adding or Subtracting the same number from each side
Since the goal is to isolate X on one side, you usually have to do some adding and subtracting to each side. Here's an example:
> x + 2 = 4

In this case, we can solve the equation by subtracting two from each side to get
> x = 2

Now we've solved the equation!

### Multiplying each side by the same number
If you have a pesky equation that has fractions, you can get rid of those fractions by multiplying each side by the same number. For example:
> x/3 = 7

If we multiply each side by three, we get
> x = 21

Equation solved!

### Dividing each side by the same number
Sometimes, there will be parentheses in an equation. The first step that you take is usually to try and remove those parentheses. How do you do that? Dividing! Let's look at this example:
> 2(x - 2) = 8

First, we'll divide both sides by two to get rid of the parentheses:
> x - 2 = 4

Now, we can add two to each side
> x = 6

# TypeScript: 3 simple ways to get started

## 1. Vite

This is probably the fastest and easiest way to set up a TypeScript app. Vite is an amazing tool that makes it a breeze to get a project up and running, whether it be React, Vue, or plain vanilla. If you have Node.js installed, all you have to do is run

`npm create vite`

It will provide a simple interface with several options to choose from. Assuming you don't want to use a frontend library, you can just choose 'Vanilla'. The next option will be either JavaScript or TypeScript. Select TypeScript, hit enter, and voila, you have a TypeScript app set up.

## 2. esbuild

Esbuild is an extremely fast bundler, and has built-in support for TypeScript. To add it to your project, you can set up a basic package.json by running the command

`npm init -y`

After this, install esbuild with

`npm install esbuild --save-dev`

You can also install it globally by adding the `-g` flag.
 
If esbuild is installed globally, you can bundle your code by typing a simple command into your terminal:

`esbuild index.ts --bundle --outfile=dist/index.js`

This will provide a file in the `dist` folder that contains all your TypeScript converted into plain JavaScript. (This is assuming that your entry point file is called index.ts, but it can be anything you want.)

If esbuild is only installed via the package.json, it will be best to define a build script that contains the above command.

This way is to use webpack and babel, but it's not simple so 1.) it doesn't meed the criteria of this article, and 2.) I don't feel like writing more right now. The 2 ways above are better xD

Where `{innerHTML}` is a nested element or text inside the parent.

## HTML elements
A few of the basics are:  
The `div` element is a division or a section of elements/text.  This is good to use in conjunction with a `class` or an `id` attribute and CSS.
The `p` element is a paragraph of text/links.  This element is used for paragraphs of text not really 
The `a` element is an anchor tag that you use to make hyperlinks.  
The `h{1-6}` element is are headings.  In order from *1*: *largest* to *6*: *smallest*
The `ul` element is an unordered list.  Ex: 
- *Hi* 
- *Bye* 
The `ol` element is an ordered list.  Ex: 
1.  *OK* 
2. *Not OK*  
The `li` element is a list item that you nest inside of a `ul` or `ol` element.  
The `html` element is the starting element at the top of your HTML document. 
The `head` element is the tag in which you put references to stylesheets, favicons, and the title of your page.  We'll get into those later. 
The `body` element is the tag where you nest the contents of your document that the viewer can actually see/the text.  
The `br` element is a line break that can separate two elements on the same line. Same as *Enter* or *Return*.

2. Go to [https://repl.it/new/html](https://repl.it/new/html)
3. Name the repl "My First Website" Ex:

> Dependent clauses do not make sense by themselves.

Let's see why:

**Because he was sad.** While it has subject and predicate, the subject goes nowhere. You'd do better removing the "because" from the sentence.

**To purchase milk.** Again, incoherent.

Let's put these sentences together now:

**Mark jumped off a bridge to purchase milk.** There! It works as a sentence.

**Dana walked to the store because she was sad.** Notice how you can chop up the sentence into two parts, the dependent part and the independent part. All sentences that are grammatically correct will always have/be an independent clause.
